2021 Chevy Silverado HD

General Motors and Chevy electric vehicle news have been heating up these past few months! Chevy has already made a splash in the market with the Bolt EV launch and the early release news for the Hummer EV. On Tuesday, Chevy announced it will be introducing an electric Silverado pickup truck that will be built at GM’s Factory ZERO in the Detroit area.

Chevy stated:

The Chevrolet Silverado electric full-size pickup is designed from the ground up to be an EV, harnessing the best of the Ultium Platform and Silverado’s proven capability. The electric Silverado will offer customers a GM-estimated range of more than 400 miles on a full charge*.

The electric Silverado’s release date was not given, but automotive industry experts predict a late 2022 release. We also don’t know how much the Silverado EV will cost, but we estimate it will start below $80,000, slightly below its counterpart, the Hummer EV.
